About this presentation
Cryptocurrency transactions are one of the ATO’s four tax time priorities in 2022. Data matching capabilities are improving, technology is evolving and the Board of Taxation is considering a tax framework for cryptocurrency and digital asset transactions. Accountants need to know right now what they should do to manage these transactions.
In this webinar, we will focus on:
- The different types of cryptocurrency and digital assets
- Tax treatment of crypto and digital asset transactions
- Record keeping considerations
- Challenging scenarios that might not be specifically envisioned by current tax laws.
This session will feature diagrams and examples to assist in explaining the key issues. We will also have an interactive Q&A section to give participants an opportunity to ask questions and build their understanding of how the tax law applies to crypto and digital asset transactions.
