Daniel Biancardi

Daniel Biancardi is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in tax advisory and tax training roles for over 15 years. He started his career in Business Services at a small practice in Sydney and then moved into tax advisory roles at PwC, BDO and Prosperity Advisers. While at BDO, he was responsible for developing and delivering a national tax training program across all their state offices. Daniel has also held a senior training role at The Institute of Chartered Accountants and has presented hundreds of tax training sessions to undergraduates all the way up to Partners and Directors. Daniel is both well known and well regarded in the tax training field.

Daniel has always been passionate about tax training and in 2013 he foundered Talking Tax to provide practical and relevant tax training to accounting firms. Talking Tax grew rapidly and began servicing accounting firms in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane. In 2017 Talking Tax transferred its tax training business to Taxbanter and Daniel continues to provide tax training sessions to a multitude of clients.

Anthony Cullen

Anthony has 25 years of experience in the accounting and SMSF industry.

He has previously held senior roles managing the SMSF division of a small accounting practice and providing SMSF technical support within a large SMSF administration business.

Over the years, Anthony’s roles have evolved from the accounting function of SMSFs to keeping on top of the ever changing technical and compliance nature of this specialised area.

He now finds his passion in training and educating on all things SMSF. He has experience in delivering training sessions to staff, trustees and professionals alike. Anthony has contributed to articles and podcasts over the years and is regarded for his ability to keep the complex simple.

He is an SMSF specialist adviser with the SMSF Association and currently serves as a committee member for the association’s SA local chapter.

Anthony enjoys the quieter life of the seaside town he resides in. He believes holidays and camping are always better if a craft beer brewery is nearby.

Tiffany Douglas

Tiffany has over 25 years experience in the tax profession undertaking roles within accounting firms (including the Big 4), corporates (including multinationals) and tax education/advocacy. Over this time, she has managed client portfolios, in-house tax functions and has also worked as both a tax technical writer and workshop/seminar presenter.

Tiffany is also a registered tax agent and an Australian Lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Her outside interests include travelling, reading and keeping fit.

Sheoni Dunlop

Sheoni started her career in a big four accounting firm, where she developed her skills in corporate and international tax as well as GST, stamp duty, managed investment trusts and superannuation funds.

After leaving the big four, she primarily worked in mid-tier firms providing and managing the provision of advice in respect of both federal and state based taxes to domestic and foreign wealthy individuals, private and public groups and investment funds.

She also worked as a senior tax advisor in a large Australian company, which headed a multinational group. While working as a tax manager and then senior tax manager in mid-tier firms, Sheoni developed training materials and presented training while also being responsible for oversight of training programs.

Sheoni is very passionate about tax education and particularly enjoys helping others understand complex tax issues.

Melanie Dunn

Melanie is Principal and Senior Actuary at Accurium. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) specialising in Global Retirement Income Systems and is an SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSA) with over 15 years’ experience at Accurium in our superannuation team. She is passionate about assisting professionals efficiently and effectively deliver superior retirement outcomes to their clients and is a key driver of the design, development, and delivery of superannuation, SMSF, and actuarial services for Accurium.

Melanie’s knowledge and passion for SMSFs and retirement has seen her develop into a thought leader and coveted educator. Her extensive knowledge and experience with Australia’s retirement system, best practices and legislation makes Melanie a very versatile educator in the SMSF and retirement landscape. Her practical approaches and enthusiasm have made her a highly sought-after speaker and contributor to the media. In addition to supporting Accurium’s award winning training and education services, Melanie regularly features with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, SMSF Association, SMSF Adviser, and selfmanagedsuperannuation.

As well as working in SMSF training and compliance, Melanie provides actuarial advice to financial planners, accountants and lawyers to help them better advise their own clients, and consultancy services to superannuation funds and other institutions in respect to retirement income strategies, retirement modelling, calculators, and member engagement tools. Melanie was a key contributor in building Accurium’s retirement model which supports the Accurium Retirement HealthCheck, a tool which holistically assess a household’s ability to fund their retirement.

Melanie is a member of the SMSF Association Tasmanian Chapter and sits on the Actuaries Institute Retirement Income Working Group committee.

Melanie is a keen squash player and qualified squash coach. She enjoys watching sport and walking her dogs.

Tim Edgecombe

Tim has over 15 years’ experience in public practice with Chartered Accounting firms, including with Big 4 firms and continues to act as a consultant for several accounting firms, ranging from large second tier to sole practitioners. Tim has significant experience in the tax issues encountered by small to medium enterprises and brings these practical insights to training presentations.

He regularly presents tax related topics at a range of professional forums on behalf of other industry bodies. Tim is also involved with the presentation of Tax Masterclass material for CA candidates.

Mark Ellem

Mark generally needs no introduction in the SMSF space, he is a popular, experienced and highly sought after presenter who is passionate about educating accountants and SMSF practitioners about SMSFs and strategies to make SMSFs a successful part of their business.

He has extensive experience in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), Pension Funds, Income Tax and Financial Advisory. He is a Fellow of the CPA, IPA and SMSF Association, and received the 2018 SMSF Association CEO award in February 2019 for his contribution to the association and was in the inaugural group of association members to advance to the status of Fellow in February 2020.

Along with Mark’s regular appearances presenting at national SMSF conferences, he also heads up Accurium’s online education and presents webinars to provide an online interactive learning experience providing CPD hours. He regularly composes content, FAQs and CPD assessments for the Accurium TechHub. He provides in-house training to a number of organisations and can provide bespoke training to suit the needs of your organisation.

Mark frequently delivers editorial contributions and provides comment for the media, and has been featured in popular trade media including selfmanagedsuperannuation and SMSF Adviser.

He has spent over 30 years in accounting practices and SMSF administration companies, including running his own accountancy practice and SMSF administration and compliance advice company for ten years.

Mark is a member of the Austin Motor Vehicle Club of Queensland and enjoys driving his classic Austin cars, a 1968 Austin 1800 Mk1 and a 1955 Austin A50 Cambridge, when they’re running and working on them (when they’re not).

Deb Ghuliani

Deb joined the tax training industry after 13 years in Corporate tax at a Big 4 CA practice. Her high level of tax consulting experience and lively personality combine to ensure that clients receive an informative yet entertaining training session.

Deb has practical experience in dealing with tax issues affecting many industries, particularly manufacturing, telecommunications and resources. Deb also has significant experience in relation to international tax matters resulting from her 4 year secondment to the M&A division of the London office of the Big 4 CA firm where she worked and a 1 year secondment to an Australian subsidiary of a global listed multinational group.

Lynne Gibson

Lynne had over 25 years’ experience in public practice in Chartered Accounting firms before joining the tax training industry. Advising a diverse range of clients in most industries means she has the ideal experience and expertise that allows her to provide relevant and practical examples in her interesting presentations.

She has managed clients’ affairs, delivered tax advice and been responsible for staff development and training as a partner in a Sydney CBD Chartered Accounting practice. Before becoming a partner Lynne worked to a senior level in a number of public accounting practices including a Big 4 CA practice, advising in taxation, audit and accounting matters to a diverse range of clients including many family groups and corporate clients covering many industries. Lynne also has professional affiliations at a senior level.

Conrad Gilbert

Conrad works with the profession to navigate the practical impact of change on advisers, their practices, and their clients.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry, working across insurance and financial planning. Before joining Knowledge Shop, he held senior executive roles with national financial planning networks. He has spent his career working in and exploring financial advice.

In addition to his work with Knowledge Shop, Conrad is currently completing a PhD in Finance and Financial Planning at Griffith University and is a sessional academic. He holds an MBA from the University of Qld, a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University, and a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University.
